In the app

What gets deleted

• Your account and your sign-in details.
• Every reminder you created, its notes, due dates and history — including reminders you added to lists you share with other people, and including reminders you had already deleted, which the server keeps marked as deleted until this point.
• Your lists and tags.
• Invitations you have sent, and invitations other people have sent to your email address.

This is a real deletion, not a deactivation. There is no way to get it back, and no grace period during which it could be restored.

What does not get deleted

• A shared list you own passes to someone else rather than being destroyed. Whoever joined it first becomes its owner, so the other people on it keep working. Your own reminders on it are still deleted.
• Reminders other people created on lists you shared stay with them.
• Anything on a device that is signed out and offline stays on that device until it is next opened. Signing out of the app clears its local copy; uninstalling removes it entirely.
• Feedback you sent us is kept, with the link to your account removed and the reply address erased — what is left is a message with nobody attached to it. A bug report is the reason a fix exists, and erasing you should not erase the reason. If you would rather the message went too, email us and we will remove it.

If you can't open the app

Email [email protected] from the email address on the account, and say that you want the account deleted. Sending from that address is how we confirm it is yours — we have no other way to check, and we will not delete an account on a request from a different address.

We will do it and reply within 30 days, usually much sooner.

Using Heads Up without an account

Deleting your account does not mean losing the app. It keeps working with your reminders stored on your phone and nothing sent anywhere unless you ask — which is how it works before you sign in. The only thing that still leaves the phone is a feedback message, if you choose to send one. See the privacy policy.
